Your advice
Beryl, from Newcastle.
"I love cooking, but I'm getting a bit more forgetful, and I was worried that my smoke alarms didn't work.
I went on the Staffordshire Cares website and found that the Fire and Rescue Service could help me with a free home fire risk check service.
A firefighter visited me at home and gave me some good fire safety advice as well as fitting new smoke alarms for free.
I feel much safer and worry less now that I've got working smoke alarms fitted in my house. I also know what to do if there is a fire."
